We need volunteers for just about any job you can imagine. So, in a word, YES! Bring your friends & family along! Only riders and volunteers are eligible for lunch, however. GET INVOLVED! Cycling Safety
The Tour de Cure is conducted on open roads with vehicular traffic which means it is extremely important to follow some simple safety tips. Roads include both marked and unmarked hazards. Though we go to great lengths to make the ride as safe as possible, always remember that safety is in your own hands and ride by these rules:
Wear a helmet at all times – NO EXCEPTIONS
Carry ID and relevant medical information
Rules of the road apply; same rights and duties as the driver of any other vehicle
Ride single file where necessary, maximum of two abreast when conditions allow, do not impede traffic
Ride as far right as reasonable
Obey all traffic lights, signs, and regulations
Pass on the left only, announce “passing” or “hello” or “on your left”
Use hand signals to indicate road hazards, stopping, slowing, right, and left turns
Prepare properly – nutrition, hydration, training, and sudden changes in weather conditions
Respect others: riders, volunteers, host communities, motorists, pedestrians, law enforcement, and the environment
Riding safely and considerately is vital to your enjoyment and the safety of other riders. The future of organized cycling events depends on your cooperation with the rules above.

Yes. In addition to the registration fee, we ask each participant to raise $200.

For the 2011 Colorado Tour de Cure, we are again partnering with the Marriott group in Longmont. A special Colorado Tour de Cure rate is available for $105/per night for Tour participants at the Springhill Suites Longmont. Please see their website for this special rate: Springhill Suites.
All rides start and finish at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont, CO. Boulder County Fairgrounds Park is located at 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont. Take 1-25 North to CO-119. Head west on CO-119 for approximately 7-miles. CO-119 turns into Ken Pratt Blvd. Turn Right (NW) onto Nelson Road. The Fairgrounds are at the corner of Nelson and Hover.
If you're a registered rider, you may bring your donations to the Tour on the day of the ride, or have people donate directly to you using the online tools at the National Tour de Cure website (where you registered).

Up and Down. Not specific enough? Ok, the 20K route is great for the first-timer, or those riding with children. It is flat, and there aren't many turns at all. The 50K is for the person who is just starting to do Tours or doesn't enjoy really long, hard rides. The 100K route is deceivingly challenging, with rolling hills present throughout the entire ride. The 100-mile route is quite challenging. You'll travel up to Loveland, climb all the way up Big Thompson Canyon through Glen Haven, going up the infamous switchbacks, and come down again after you go through Estes Park. You'll definitely feel a sense of accomplishment! YOU CAN DO IT!!
